Corruption Commission

Abstract

Should the investigation be public?

Should the judiciary be investigated by a governmental appointee?

Article

There is merit in the protection of those who are under investigation by secrecy until a charge is recommended by the Corrruption Commission. However, this does not allow for the scrutiny of the Commission's own worrk in those cases in which it is decided to refrain from referring a matter for prosecution.  It allows scope for a government-appointed Commission to favour a person associated with the government who iss under investigation.

The judiciary must never be under investigation by anyone appointed by the government.  Such an investigation must always be investigated by a body whose independence is unquestionable.
